Today the world lost a legend.
Roger Moore, who passed away today at age 89, was the fourth actor (The first, Barry Nelson, was an American!) to portray the suave British secret agent James Bond.
Those films include:
* Live and Let Die
* The Man With The Golden Gun
* The Spy Who Loved Me
* For Your Eyes Only
* A View To A Kill
Moore played 007 more than any other actor.
Before him Sean Connery made four Bond movies, before quitting, and returning to the role for Diamonds are Forever — and again 14 years later for the Thunderball remake: Never Say Never Again.
Similarly, Pierce Brosnan played Bond for four movies before handing the Walther PPK over to current Bond Daniel Craig.
Sir Roger was the witty Bond, whereas Connery was the cut throat Bond, Timothy Dalton was the deadly serious Bond, Brosnan was the charming Bond, and Craig is the blunt instrument Bond.
George Lazenby‘s Bond is still a mystery to me.
Rest in Peace, Roger Moore. Nobody did it better.
A special note to Zack and Deborah Synder at this difficult time. We the fans have you in our thoughts.
